SPIRIT: L’ALTA GIOELLERIA DI LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton launches Spirit, the 125-piece high jewelry collection designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, who has succeeded in bringing fantastic creatures inspired by mythology into our century, blending into precious creations imbued with her highly contemporary vision.

It took three years of research to find and bring together extraordinary gems: a 65-carat tsavorite, sapphires from Sri Lanka, emeralds from Colombia, rubies from Mozambique and diamonds of impeccable clarity.

VUITTON’S TRIANGULAR SHAPES AND V’S

Vuitton’s triangular shapes and Vs are key elements of this collection that help forge a new, modern and impactful visual language:

The Vuitton V resembles an arrow, which was the first graphic symbol ever created by humans: by indicating the direction, it constantly pushes us forward.

says Amfitheatrof in an interview.

SPIRIT THE CAPSULE COLLECTION

The capsule collection, the most precious ever created by the brand, required over 40,000 hours of work in the Parisian ateliers and is set in five universes, each of which reflects the values of the Maison: Freedom, Grace, Fantasy, Radiance and Destiny.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes to take flight, or a dragon breathing protective fire, the Louis Vuitton woman exudes incredible strength, energy and optimism.

It is precisely that femininity – so emancipatory and emblematic of the Maison – that I wanted to embody in Spirit.

says Amfitheatrof.

The flagship jewel is called LIBERTY, a necklace similar to an armor.

Louis Vuitton created a new interpretation of its Damier motif in a mosaic composition of custom-cut square and triangular diamonds, then superimposed the zipper motifs of its iconic trunks.

This geometry is brought to life by an exceptional selection of emeralds from Colombia, the largest of which weighs 8.90 carats, and a 2.60-carat diamond in the Maison’s signature Monogram Flower cut.

The jewel in the crown of this necklace is an extremely rare Sri Lankan sapphire weighing 18.08 carats and of an unparalleled royal blue.

No less noteworthy is GRACE, the winged necklace with a double V: one V composed of custom-cut baguette diamonds, the other of a twisted metallic pair of round diamonds that curves around the top of the neck.

Two phoenix wings as a metaphor for the Louis Vuitton woman’s capacity for renewal, who flies away to discover new lands and reach new heights.

The GRACE curved necklace culminates with a 65.26 carat East African tsavorite that forms a detachable pendant.
